Thursday

Not done. I have been working so much later in the day that none of my photos are very good. I have been meaning to post for the past three days but I'm starting to notice all the "not done" photos and it makes me a bit nervous. I don't know if other people see the painting's potential in the unfinished state, it could be just a bad representation of the final piece. I hope not, my intention is to have you see the painting in progress, just as you would if you visited my studio. I hope you will like the final pieces when I start posting them next month. For now I'm just diving into every single project I have on the table, getting the important stuff on the canvas and then moving on.

  1. I paint outside and know that 98% of the people don't respect an unfinished painting. They rush to judgment as if it were framed and well lite. The othe 2% are artists themselves and "get" a work in progress.

  2. I love your work Neiley! I read your blog and feel so much better to know that there are other artists that have several paintings on the go.I work the same way.....my problem is getting back to them to finish them off. I love your tree paintings......You can feel the majesty and height of those ancient wonders. I just finished an old cedar in winter. Anyway, beautiful work!

  5. Thank you all for your comments - always. I really value the feedback. I'm still feeling my way through the dark artistically, but I suppose I always will be to some extent. :)
