Crabapple Spring

Not quite done, actually a couple of hours to go, but I'm thrilled with it. I wasn't sure if I was going to paint the "dying" blossom with it's dryed yellow edges, but it ended up being the best part of the painting - for me. I learned a lot today. Crabapple blossoms are fun to paint and I have two really beautiful trees in my front yard.
I spent some time with my Dad today. He has spring fever wicked bad and he was trying to give it to me but I fought hard. We will see if I fought hard enough tomorrow. It's going to be around 50 degrees. (That's a warm spring day in Maine.)

  1. Oh Neiley, this is vintage YOU! I just love it. And I see why you love the fading blossom - it's delicate and lovely... beautiful! Your painting is the perfect cure for spring fever!
