I'm back to flowers again. These are the Hollyhocks I grew in my garden two years ago. My garden just didn't grow that well this year and I missed having these all over the side of my house. I still have work to do, it's pretty big - 24x48.

Well, I love your pink flowers, so I can't say I'm disappointed by your return to floral portraits.
ReplyDeleteSince these charmers are from last year's garden, do you work from photographs?
I do work from photos that I have taken, but I usually put the picture(s) away before I'm half way done. I'm really trying to put more of my own interpretation into the art. So the pictures help get me started and then I just paint what I feel the painting should be. I'll be posting the finished hollyhocks painting soon, I hope to hear what you think. Thanks
